Your Neighbor Productions serves a larger purpose
The new industry standard: Care for others.
Our clients don’t pick between quality content and genuine care. They get both. We grow to support others more.
Your Neighbor Productions was not a response, but a need for Los Angeles. This city needs community, compassion, and attention. We won’t ignore it any longer. We currently donate 10% of all profit to Serve LA, in support against the current homelessness crisis, but soon plan to host our own local events. Stay tuned for future updates.
Founded by Joshua and Melanie Bowen in 2025
From an early age, Joshua and Melanie knew they wanted to help others. In their small Florida town, Joshua lived with foster siblings, and Melanie’s childhood was spent living in a low-income neighborhood. Immersed by a variety of perspectives and stories, they developed compassion for their neighbors and communities.
In 2022, Joshua directed a documentary about unhoused individuals and realized the art of filmmaking can empower marginalized communities. Melanie was inspired by her neighborhood ministry—where she received educational support—to start a career in education, serving East Los Angeles students.
Together, Joshua and Melanie are united to be good neighbors for the community, through first-rate productions and sincere generosity.
Meet the Team
-

Joshua Bowen
FOUNDER
Content creation is natural for Joshua. He professionally started shooting for brands and individuals in 2018, but his journey started in childhood. It was constantly “Watch this!” as he always had a camera in hand or a new video to show. Joshua graduated with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Film Production from Florida State University. Since then, he’s worked a wide range of sets in Los Angeles, won best-picture and best-director awards, and been accepted into international film festivals.
Then, he realized accolades could never satisfy his spiritual needs. In recent years, he has begun volunteering and donating to support displaced communities. From operating showers to working in a probation office, Joshua discovered a newfound passion for underrepresented groups. Now, he utilizes visual media for unhoused populations through Your Neighbor Productions.

Melanie Bowen
CO-FOUNDER
Melanie has always had a big heart for community and change. After a dynamic academic and volunteer career in high school, Melanie chose to pursue studies in education. She has graduated with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Florida State University and a Masters in Education from Alder Graduate School of Education.
Currently, she enjoys the rigorous and rewarding work of Sped Education at a local middle school. She prides herself in her resilience and resolve to be an agent of change within academic communities. Melanie is excited to bring her joy for serving others to Your Neighbor Productions, alongside sharing her marketing insight for content creation and community outreach. Melanie loves LA, and is grateful to support our unhoused neighbors through creativity and dedication to others.

At age six, Ryan began piano lessons and quickly developed a passion for composition, performing his first original piece in second-grade. Now, he collaborates with directors and studios, across a wide range of genres, composing for films, video games, and concerts. Ryan also regularly records as a session pianist and releases original music.
Above all, Ryan values the people around him, believing that music’s deepest purpose is to build and strengthen community. He loves inviting his neighbors over for intimate piano concerts, and has used music to care for underserved groups in his area.
